Catherine van der Veen is an experienced Executive with 15 years of Financial Services experience. Catherine completed her bachelor degree in Agricultural Economics at Sydney University and is a graduate of Harvard Business School (leadership program). Catherine held a variety of roles within the Westpac and CBA Banking groups, and affiliates, including product management, projectmanagement, distribution, marketing, strategy and business management across retail banking, wealth management and investment management based in Sydney, Boston, London and Singapore. She has a demonstrated track record in leadership, product development and driving commercial and customer outcomes. Prior to joining Generation Life as CEO, Catherine was the General Manager of Strategic Projects for the Wealth Management arm of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, in a successful job-share partnership with Lucy Foster. Catherine is a co-Director of JVDV Consulting, providing strategic advice to Government, Infrastructure and banking/funds management clients on a range of programs including project management, tender evaluations, sales, product development, staff engagement, customer strategy and innovation. Catherine has two young sons and she is an active member in her local community and acts as committee member and treasurer for local volunteer organisations.

Lucy Foster has extensive experience in strategy and execution having worked for global Financial Services companies, predominantly in Wealth Management in Australia (CommBank) and for various FSorganisations in the UK (Standard Life UK, KPMG FS Consulting UK). Developing and delivering pragmatic strategy that turns the dial is what makes Lucy tick. Having spent nearly a decade at CommBank, Lucy has a depth of knowledge and understanding across product development, distribution, operations, strategy and business transformation. Recently, Lucy has led various transformation agendas across customer/channel/product to drive significant consumer and financial upside. Lucy is recognised for her ability to engage and influence to implement sustainable change in a people-focused, commercially-aware and agile manner. As the CEO of Generation Life, Lucy is passionate about helpingAustralian families optimise and grow their financial position, recognising significant opportunities for service and product innovation in the sector to better support younger, growing families as well as families transitioning into retirement. Lucy is a strong and active advocate of flexible working, having held multiple senior job share roles in her career. Lucy is part of a community of Executive job-sharers in Australia and the UK who support and mentor talented individuals looking to work flexibly. Lucy has two young daughters and is a supporter of Amnesty International and UNHCR. Lucy holds an MBA (distinction) from the University of Strathclyde and an undergraduate degree in Medical Sciences from the University of Glasgow.
